I went to see Hey! Say! JUMP
Oct. 10th, 2016 01:43 pmDivided into: the mess it was to get tickets, Saturday concert, setlist and then Sunday concert.
So first things first, I have been worrying for this concert for basically half a year.
It started 1 May, when I heard that the tour dates had been released. It was really bad timing because I was moving that day orz, but I still wrote to my friend who loves them too and is in the fanclub to ask her if she was going. She told me no, she would prioritize other things and go to Tokyo in December instead. So I asked for tips on how to buy tickets when you A) are not in the fanclub and B) can't speak japanese at all, and she gave me some.
In the end I started looking at a shopping service that I had gotten recommended on tumblr, and it seemed fair and everything, so I figured I'd try that.
Around here we also bought flight tickets and booked our hotel since I now knew the dates we were going for and my two friends I would bring for the first time accepted them.
A few weeks later, my friend wrote me again and said I could apply for a ticket on her membership if I wanted, so of course I accepted and was put in touch with the girl who handles her membership. While I was with my school at our one week study trip visiting animal productions, so I wasn't too focused. And then, when she asked me when I wanted to go, I was working at my mother's dog show the whole day, and I wasn't very focused then either. Due to this lack of focus and some issues with communication, I ended up having one ticket applied for through the fanclub, and by then I had accidentally gotten a friend really interested in going, so I needed two tickets. Resale it was.
When going for resale, I completely misunderstood the pricing, and thought the cost of one ticket was the cost for two, and my friend had a budget of 250€, which was NOT enough. (I did have a budget once upon a time too). In the end I felt really bad for messing up with the cheap way of getting tickets, so I told him I'd just take his money and wait for cheaper tickets. In real life I bought tickets and paid the difference for his too, but he doesn't need to know that. It just got literally ten times more expensive than the original price and I did NOT have a budget for that in real life. But, I really really wanted to go.
So finally when my tickets were bought (after several mails about prices and new prices and tickets being sold and differences needing to be paid), I relaxed a bit. I also learned that I had gotten a ticket for the Sunday show through the fanclub.
Somewhere around here I received my schedule for the autumn semester in school (which I hadn't when we booked and I knew there was an exam somewhere in there). And it showed that my first exam in pharmacology and pharmaceutical calculations (a part which requires 100% correct answers to pass) would be on October 18th. And we'd be back on the 17th. Thank you GOD. So I figured I would just have to study super hard before we left for Tokyo and then just write the exam jetlagged, but that was one less thing to worry about, missing something obligatory in school.
THEN, again, with super bad timing, in the middle of our arranging of the kick off week for new students at university, my friend with the fanclub wrote to me and asked if I had heard about ID-controls of good seats at earlier concerts this tour, and I freaked a little. Since I bought tickets with unknown seating I had no idea if the seats were shit or awesome, aaand so I started worrying about ID-controls. Maybe a little irrational I know, but how much wouldn't it suck to stand there on concert day, having flown across the world and paid tons of money and then not be allowed in?
Also, I would have a Japanese name on my tickets and I am very very blonde and very very Scandinavian looking, AND I would have a boy with me. A foreign boy at an idol concert, like really, when did you last see that.
So, I worried for like three weeks until I got the mail with the seats we received, which were for stand so I could breathe out. (I got these news while drinking with my friends, seriously, these timings?)
Then the next worry was actually receiving the tickets and holding them in my hands, both the fanclub ticket and my resale tickets. I agreed with my shopping service girl about having them delivered the morning of the 6th when we were arriving in Japan, but then second guessed myself so much because what if the hotel didn't accept them and what if our booking was wrong somehow and what if I'd given them the wrong address and seriously, I wish my brain would just SHUT UP.
But, when I thought that maybe I should change my mind, they were already sent and I got a tracking number.
And all I could do was try to breathe and hope for the best and survive the coming days.
I spent roughly half the plane ride worrying about that, which would be like 6 hours lol. In the end, when we finally landed I was so damn tired I just couldn't be bothered anymore, which was good for my mental health.
And when we arrived at the hotel, the staff came with two envelopes for me and AJNFJRLG my tickets, in my hands, at last~
So, the only worry left was actually getting inside the arena. Which I also spent waay too much time worrying about, telling myself repeatedly that WHY would they check ID on us but my brain insisted that it could still happen.
When we arrived in Yokohama, I was roughly in a million pieces on the inside, but my friend helped me pull through it and we went to buy goods (were stared at), where I managed to buy the like 500 things I was getting for me and fanclub friend, and also accidentally lured my guy friend into buying a pamphlet and a photoset.
Then, we had to ask for help on where to get in, twice, but. The girl who checked my ticket looked at it, looked at me, smiled in surprise and then accepted it and let me pass. And FINALLY I could stop worrying. So that's May 1st to October 8th of worrying. I am so so so happy it worked out, damn.
So, the Saturday concert:
It started with the intro, and seriously I think I had goosebumps when she says “tonight will be a night to remember” because oh my god yes.
Then the fabrics hanging decoratively over the main stage drops and there they are, in red and gold and feathery masks, singing Masquerade. I love Masquerade SO MUCH and the costumes were amazing and even though I'd already seen the part where they take off their masks in previews, it was so damn fabulous.
Directly after was Run de Boo, which is another song I really really like. I think they walked to the center stage during this song.
After, I think it was Viva 9's Soul even though I could be messing up the order. (Sunday note: Kimi attraction was in between). They removed their jackets and had these member coloured vests-ish underneath and the stage was in rainbow colours and I wasn't really sure what to do with myself. The lyrics were definitely altered because I couldn't follow anything lol, but I know their names and that's enough. Daiki actually got lyrics now, which is nice I guess haha.
After this, there was Weekender which is one of my absolute favourites of all time and so I was flailing pretty hard but discreetly. There were these rainbow coloured lights almost like they did in the smart tour except they were still standing in the middle, and it was awesome. There was a lot of OTP in this one, and I must admit I totally missed something while looking at Yamada because everyone screamed but I only saw Inoo laughing on screen when I looked that way. Also can we talk about Chinen's jumping. Does he weigh anything? Halfway through the song BEST discreetly disappeared and there was Yamada/Chinen fanservice AND Yuto/Keito fanservice to make up for it and hell I'm not complaining at all.
BEST's performance reminded me a lot of their Scramble performance with the black and green outfits, and I LOVE that one so this was so asbhjflrng good. There was just some more purple in these costumes and an amazing dance break with cog wheels and colour splotches moving when they did. Damn guys so good.
After BEST, there was 7 and HELLO naked. Or well, a golden leather jacket and jeans and that was it. And a Gaya-tail, you know that puffy kind that hangs off the hip. I would also like to mention that I think Party monster is one of the best songs 7 has made, so I was KIND OF excited. Did I mention Yamada wore blue contacts and had those small tattoos with the star and the text on his neck? Well, it's relevant here.
They ended up at the center stage and pulled their jackets open on the same beat, and they zoomed in on Yamada, and seriously my guy friend made this facial expression of “HOLY SHIT HOT”, which says something about how hot it was. HOT.
When 7 finished, the center stage was raised on the sides, and Keito basically said “bye” and jumped inside while the other three walked towards the main stage, and up from the center stage comes Hikaru and Inoo in silver respectively gold glitter and white feathers. Their outfits were RIDICULOUSLY fabulous like has anything ever fitted Inoo better than a crown? I love this song and I laughed so hard when they zoomed on Inoo while singing Silent Queen and Hikaru while singing Beauty Queen because COME ON, boys, I love you so much haha. I really like Hikaru and Inoo together it's just the right amount of “what the fuck” and “that's so fabulously wonderful”.
After this, I THINK there were the Massu outfits. (Which reallyreallyreally looks like Massu btw). Keito introduced the group in English basically (YAY I UNDERSTAND SOMETHING), by using words to make the letter of their group name and it was really pretty actually, and there was tap dancing on the steps and Chinen did backflips and. I don't even remember but I liked it.
I'm not even 75% certain of how this proceeded songwise, but I think it was Kimi attraction where they said... not kimi ga number one, but something else, I understood it but I can't remember, then they ran down to the other end of the stage where there were mic stands with glittery membercoloured tambourines, and I THINK they performed ai no shubiduba with them. It was actually pretty cool, I've never seen something like that before. (Sunday note: Setlist here was Order, Ai no shubiduba and We are otoko no ko)
After this, it was Wo I need you, where they spread out across the whole stage and I never really liked that song on CD but it's so fun live.
I think after this there was Maji Sunshine, which is the song that's still stuck to my head now, and it rained golden glitter and it felt like a summer sunset and it was PRETTY. Also Yabu grabbed Takaki's boobs can we talk about that.
There might be something in between here but I'll just go straight to the MC, where I understood roughly 5% and instead did what I do best, which is looking at the boys. I understood that they were bullying each others fashion sense and that Hikaru talked about his hair. Chinen didn't say a single word lol. Well he tried to say something, but then gave up I guess.
Hikaru was super pretty by the way, so blonde, and Hikaru + blonde is like the love of my life. So I just basically stared at him the whole MC.
And then they talked about the new single and I was like yeah I already bought that and then I realize suddenly that they're going to perform it and I think I might have slapped my friend in excitement. Fantastic Time is so GOOD and I actually cried a bit, because it reminds me kind of of NEW AGE but cooler and more fierce? And since NEW AGE is placed so deeply in my heart it's practically fused with my aorta, it just got a bit too emotional I think. And. There were lasers and cool dancing and it's so freaking good I don't even know what to do. There was an Inoo Yamada moment in there which is a very good sign of Inoo's rising popularity haha.
After the song, they spoke a bit more, and repeated dance moves (I guess they bullied each other for it being difficult or something, wouldn't surprise me), and Yamada and Daiki were unsuspiciously gone.
And then suddenly Yamada speaks and asks Hikaru something about sunglasses lol, I guess he wanted to borrow them or whatever. (Note after translations: Apparently those are the worst sunglasses ever so I guess more bullying here lol)
There was obviously My Girl after this, and I cried to this one too, because I have difficulties listening to it and the lyrics and they're such good singers so it's just. Too much, too close to bad feelings. But it was a beautiful performance, their kind of milk tea jackets were so pretty and the drawings on the screen fit so well.
To lighten up the mood a bit it was immediately followed by Chinen and Keito, and it was, of course, cute, and Keito didn't get as much cheering as he deserves imo. I mean I'm Chinen biased as hell but. Keito. And there was this cute little dance to learn and I was way too busy looking at them to learn it, whoops.
After this, I think, there was Inoo playing piano wearing that black + gold chequered suit that's been everywhere since countdown, and I honestly just thought about how he got a piano solo instead of Yuto getting a drum solo and it was kind of refreshing. I think he missed a note but I'm not a musician so don't trust me.
However, he eventually started playing the intro to Chiku Taku and it was so pretty. Then suddenly, spotlight and there Yamada stands on the opposite side of the stage from us, and sings the first lines to Inoo's piano, and nhbghbshlghbghe DAMN. And, then spotlight and Yabu stands on our side and sings his lines, and. Then there's the band boys on stage and the song started the way you're used to hearing it. There was only Yuto, Hikaru and Keito this time though, and HIKARU WORE GLASSES AND IT WAS GREAT.
I'm really really sure they sang something else in between here (Sunday note: EVE), but I don't know what so I'll just skip straight to Mr. Flawless, which is a song that's been growing on me a lot.
They still wore the costumes which was a bit surprising to me since they always have their own unit costumes, but I guess these worked really well to the song so I'm okay with it. They sparkled so much.
There was a disco ball in the ceiling that they lowered and lit in all these pretty colours and it looked amazing. They sang, and then “threw” darts at the main monitor, and then brandished roses that you immediately understood that they would go and give to the person standing where their respective darts hit. Takaki gave his to a fan and it was so adorable she was so happy. There was also split choreography and anyone who's ever heard me talk fandom should know how much I like that.
They also sang something pretty in these costumes, maybe Eternal? (This would be Eve) Not sure. But they were placed so Inoo and Daiki stood in the “theatre booths” of the stage and that was honestly all I was looking at because hey so fabulous and such musical-flirting and I love classy musicals to death.
There's a bit blurry here too, so I'll just go for the next “part” of the concert.
There was a VTR first, where Yamada starts off super fierce and “breaks” a chandelier that's hanging above the main stage. There were three of them slowly moving up and down and it felt so Phantom of the Opera I wanted to scream a little, but I'm an adult. And then Yamada did something and there's fire bursting from the bottom of one, before they go dark and there's the rest of the group looking like some fierce gang on the screens. They even gathered up walking around Yamada in the end like they came to join their leader on the mission and if this shit ain't going on the DVD I don't even know.
And so there's a fire bang and it's SUPERMAN, with three boys standing in each chandelier and it was awesome, even though I mostly remember Yamada being ridiculously hot /biased. They had these dark blue grey sparkly outfits and it was awesome.
Halfway through the song they got off their chandeliers, and then they sang Tasty U, which is a song I rebelliously like. It was hot and fierce like Superman and there was half-group hip thrusting (CHINEN) and as a fangirl I appreciate things like that.
After that one, I think it was Ride with me. They played the new version with strings mainly, and the original just at the last chorus. And I'm not 100% that I like the new one better than the original yet, but it totally worked and the dancing is extraordinary and. I'll just have whichever Ride with me they want to give me honestly. How much do I love that song.
My brain was pretty much mush by now, so I'll just go for it being Asu e no yell after this even though I don't know if there was something else in between. (Sunday note: Come on a my house and kira kira hikare) We didn't buy towels because I figured I didn't need it since it's just one song, but maybe next time. It was fun and just like I expected, basically.
The last song they played was Dear, wearing these pink barbie coats with the pretty cut, and it was all beautiful, and then Yamada and Yabu sang a few lines acapella in this high pitch and ugh goosebumps. Boys. Why are you so good.
It felt like it ended too soon honestly, maybe I'm used to longer concerts, but I didn't feel like it was time for encore yet but it was.
AND. AND. I had been guessing there would be carts on the stand floor, but I had NOT guessed there would be 5 of them. They were like ten metres away and I didn't look down for a second during that song (Magic Power) since they passed us first. Yabu was first, sending a blow kiss to the girls in front of us who I suppose had a Yabu-uchiwa and they FLAILED, and then he looked around after more of his fans and pouted when he couldn't see any lol.
Then there was Chinen, who didn't look our way at all, and maybe Takaki? Wow I don't remember look at how biased I am. (Sunday note: It was Inoo haha) Then there was Hikaru, and Hikaru saw us, because he waved at the girls next to me and then glanced like “wait what” in our direction, but he'd already mostly passed us lol BUT HE SAW US. Last was Yamada and he didn't look our way, but I don't even care because he was there and that's enough for me.
… That's all I can tell about magic power lol.
After that, there was Aisureba and I'm not too fond of that song but it's a cute ending song, which it turned out to be.
It felt strangely fulfilling to call out their group name and see the silver thingies blast out over the audience, and I guess that meant I was meant to do it some time. I saw the thingies later and they were really pretty, white on one side and silver on the other.
After that, they said goodbye and thank you so much and it was over. Which I wasn't entirely ready for, so I'm really happy I'm attending tomorrow as well.
To wrap it up, I'm SO FREAKING HAPPY I could do this, that I made it alone, that I brought a close friend, that I saw my favourite group for my own sake, and I don't regret any of the money I spent on this because it was so worth it.
Thank you Hey Say Jump, I love you.

Sunday concert:
Today I had a ticket for the F-block, which was right at the end of the main stage, which for starters meant I could see in behind the sheets hanging over the stage and so saw them entering the stage. It was pretty cool. I also sat really close (I thought) to the stairs where they'd walked down yesterday after their encore cart ride upstairs, there was just an aisle and 5 seats in between, so I was super excited about my seat because I'd see them up close.
So besides sorting out the setlist, I'll just add things that were different today:
Yamada's hair lol. At first he looked like a prince tbh, because the red coat and boots and gold pants, but when there were close ups he kind of looked like the bad kind of bad boy with his blue contacts + tattoos + slick hair. Not sure if approved. But it sorted itself out when he started sweating haha.
The song following Run de boo was Kimi attraction, and today there were balloons raining from the ceiling. It looked like helium balloons, those shiny ones you buy at fairs, but they fell so I guess there was just air in them. Also today they said “ore wa number one” instead haha. Yamada of course said omae wa number one instead.
The 7 fanservice was basically the same but a little better, Yuto and Keito synched a touch + sigh flawlessly, and I was actually a little worried Yamada was actually going to kiss Chinen even though I know that kind of stuff only happens in vk. It was nice though. Very nice.
I also realized that what I missed yesterday was Inoo and Chinen making a heart together with their hands. Twice.
I remembered the penlight dance, complete with changing mask colours, was during Ai no Shubiduba and I couldn't follow the dance at all. I never do, but I'm not sure whether I'm so uncoordinated or if I'm so busy staring at the boys. Then they did the tambourine dance to Otoko no ko.
CAN I ALSO JUST. HOW. DID I FORGET. The chair dance. I was in pieces over this yesterday so maybe my brain just pushed it away for my own safety. I randomly remembered today when walking down stairs at a train station lol. SO UHM. They danced with chairs in Order and I. Hng. That's a massive weakness of mine that applies to everything, kind of like dancing with canes, so I was dying a bit. It was a fierce and manly choreo too, I would honestly have liked it a LITTLE sluttier but. I think Takaki took the all the slut upon himself so it's alright. It was so freaking good though. So good.
Today, I followed the themes of the MC a little bit better maybe? They talked about Takaki's single finger nail polish and related it to Hitomi no screen, they talked about halloween and then Yamada spoke about Abel to Cain, which Hikaru somehow got to culprits and began talking about Kindaichi. I don't even know.
They did Fantastic time and post-dance Yabu and Takaki really camped up the “the dance is so tough” act and then managed to drag Chinen into it. (First time he said anything in the MCs I saw lol), but he basically just looked confused and I didn't hear what he said because a girl behind me squealed kawaii really loud. He was pretty cute but girl. Chill. I THINK they said something about him being really energetic about dancing but hey don't trust anything this non-japanese speaker says.
On a random note Hikaru was so crazy damn pretty today. I don't know what was different from yesterday but he was.
I want to comment Takaki's shoes too, because he had basically loafers and then ¾ pants? It reminded me of Tintin in China tbh but I guess anything happens when there's Massu.
… I cried to My girl again?
I also realized the “pretty” song they did in their black/gold costumes is Eve, which you'd trust me not to know because I'm not a ballad person. Oops. Today Hikaru stood on the platform between the lower and upper part of the main stage and waved while the others were singing haha.
For this time's Superman they were really close, Yuto being closest to me, and he waved this black “torn” flag during the final part and I had a flash of pirate feelings. It was really cool.
And uhm. I might have forgotten completely about Come on a my house yesterday. It's another standard favourite so I don't know what happened there tbh.
I think it was the last one before Asu e no Yell, in which Yabu came up to my section and was super excited haha. And when they were all standing on the main stage Daiki shoved his towel in Yamada's face when they were filming other things lol. Those two.
In Dear, where they wear the Barbie coats, Daiki sings on the bottom part of main stage first and then walks to the upper, and when he did he grabbed his coat like a woman grabs her ballgown to walk stairs and it was FABULOUS and he knew it. Also in the end greetings Hikaru got a little excited and screaming and Daiki stood next to him all “hey you chill out” haha.
Another general thought was that Yamada kind of looked like he was in pain today tbh. He didn't move like he should really, but I'm not sure if that's just speculation or whatever. He just seemed more lively yesterday.
And so we come to the encore. As I was on the complete opposite side from yesterday I looked at Keito, Takaki, Yuto and Daiki during Magic Power, and Takaki started from our side. He wore glasses, it looked very oshare, as most things do on Takaki.
But. BUT. Aisureba. I sat really close to the stairs where they'd walked down, like I said, but I didn't realize AT ALL that they would be walking down through the audience, EXACTLY PAST ME until Inoo was two metres away. I think he saw me, but they were all really focused on just getting past so they didn't really stop to greet anyone. But I touched his hand because he half-heartedly held it out for everyone. He's so fluffy I can't.
Then there was Chinen, who's so tiny but so pretty, and Hikaru, whose eyes looked really really light, which was when I realized there was a spotlight hitting them straight in the face right there haha. And so Yabu, and in the end Yamada. And I was like... should I reach out and touch them because I know nobody likes that, but everyone did, and I figured if I don't do it now it will NEVER happen, so I did. And it's not like I'm 13 and squealing anymore, so I figured it was okay, just a brush.
And yes so I've touched Yamada, I think my life is complete there. … Unfortunately this made my brain collapse and go into fangirl mode and I forgot like everything that happen after this. Good thing it was the last song.
I don't even recall when the silver thingies came out, just that the girl next to me got one and I didn't, but I figured I touched the boys and she didn't so I was okay with that orz.
And that concludes my concerts, and I couldn't possibly be happier honestly. I'm still a little shaky over this tbh. I love this group SO MUCH I don't even know and I'm so happy I got to see them twice. Thank you universe.
I am looking forward to this DVD so much.

Date: 2016-10-11 11:11 am (UTC)about the tickets, I guess I've heard about both of the procedure you mentioned. the resale tickets and from fanclub. the resale ones are def expensive they said. but the thing I don't quite understand is about the seat. is the price for better seat higher? I heard that it's the same whichever. :/ so you know your seat directly when you book the ticket? or when you GET the ticket??? because I know you can't choose your seat.
the only thing that got my attention in your saturday show was that yabu couldn't see more of his fans and pouted. here I was squealing "KAWAII" so hard. 😆
and my main focus on sunday show was.... YOU TOUCHED THEIR HANDS OMG!!!!!!!!!!!
I guess I couldn't type more because I'm being miserable right now...
well, for now, I'm just hoping that there will be any Tegomass concert in the near future so that I can force my college junior to go there and give me direct reports.

Date: 2016-10-11 03:06 pm (UTC)So if you buy them the illegal way (second hand), you can either buy tickets when fanclub members just know they have tickets and then hope for the best when seats are out, or wait until the seat assignments are already out and then decide if you want to pay more for a good seat or less for a... less good seat haha.
But yes it's so expensive haha my money ;___;
YES I CAN'T BELIEVE I DID (WORTH ALL THE MONEY I PAID NOW). It was so good, really.
Oh I really want to see Tegomass too sometime. Or preferrably NEWS tbh Tegomass are a little too sweet for me when it's all them haha.
Hope you can go sometime too and not just get reports ♥

HSJ tickets
Date: 2017-01-16 04:46 am (UTC)Because I really want to see HSJ ):
Re: HSJ tickets
Date: 2017-01-16 09:07 am (UTC)But for two tickets resale I actually think it was roughly 800 usd :/
I bought without known seats though, so I think you could get away cheaper if you buy them when seats are announced. Since I travelled across half the world I didn't want to gamble though.
Also, the girl I bought them through said she'd never seen hsj tickets go so fast for such high prices (of course, just my luck), so I guess it could have been something just then?
