Massu just hangs up a phone call and is about to open an excel file on his laptop when he hears Tegoshi call his name, sounding muffled since Tegoshi's in the bathroom.

He frowns in worry and rises. "Yes?"

"Come here." Tegoshi asks.

Massu automatically does as he's told, and his initial worry is calmed a little by how Tegoshi doesn't sound like he's dying. He opens the door to the bathroom and peaks inside, struck by moist, warm air and the bright lights.

"Yes?" He asks, confused since Tegoshi's in the draining bath with a ton of bubbles and looks shyly up at him.

"... I can't get up from the bathtub." Tegoshi admits, his cheeks a little pink, but that could be blamed on the heat of the water.

Massu feels the smile spread on his lips when he understands what Tegoshi means, and he strips off his hoodie to have his arms free of clothing.

"Really?" He asks softly as he reaches down with strong arms to help Tegoshi up and out without falling or overbalancing his weight.

"Yeah." Tegoshi says, a little absentminded until he's got both feet on the floor. "I could do it last time, even though it was a little difficult."

"Maybe you should stop having baths then." Massu suggests gently, grabbing for a towel to wrap Tegoshi in.

"No." Tegoshi frowns and hugs the towel around him, laying a hand on his belly. "I like baths. I need my personal time, better teach the baby that right from the start."

Massu raises a hand to his mouth to try and hide the laughter, glancing down at Tegoshi's belly where said baby isn't even born yet. "Well, you'll be a consistent parent then."

"Yes." Tegoshi says proudly, smiling, and it's so beautiful Massu doesn't care that Tegoshi's still wet, pulling him into a hug that has moisture seeping into his T-shirt. "Besides, you can always help me up."

"I guess." Massu agrees, smelling the fresh shampoo from Tegoshi's still wet hair as he presses a kiss to his moist temple, thinking that he'll always do anything Tegoshi asks of him.

Massu's not sure what wakes him up, but he opens his eyes to glance at the alarm clock on the nightstand saying 03:47. He sighs and pulls the covers further up. He doesn't sleep too well at night, and waking up around half past three in the morning is becoming more of a habit than something rare. He turns around, about to just tug Tegoshi close and go back to sleep, but Tegoshi's awake, hands clasped just above where his stomach is starting to round, staring into the ceiling.

"Baby?" Massu asks, voice rough with sleep, and he reaches out a hand to settle on top of Tegoshi's. Tegoshi startles a little, but turns to look at him with a slight sadness in his eyes. "Why aren't you sleeping?"

"I had a dream." Tegoshi says quietly, turning his gaze back to the ceiling. "About parturition."

Massu's quiet for a moment, waking up enough to consider Tegoshi's words. There's not much time left, weeks only, which means it could happen anytime really.

"... Are you scared?" He asks finally, softly, because he's scared himself.

"I am so fucking scared Massu." Tegoshi admits, turning back to look at him. "What if I can't do it, what if it wrecks me completely?"

"Of course you can do it." Massu tells him without even thinking, moving his hand to stroke away a strand of blonde from Tegoshi's forehead. "You can do anything."

"But what if I can't?" Tegoshi insists, and Massu's heart both breaks and warms at how genuinely worried he is.

"You can do it. I'll hold your hand, remember?" Massu assures, reaching down again to slip his hand into Tegoshi's to prove his point. "Think about how many people have managed it throughout time. If they could do it, so can you."

Tegoshi lets out a sound that is half whine and half groan, cuddling closer to hide his face in Massu's neck while lacing their fingers together. "It better be worth it."

Massu smiles into Tegoshi's hair, wondering what it will be like to have a child, to have to wake up several times a night, argue about how to raise it and just watch it sleep. "It will. Let's sleep, okay?"

"Mm." Tegoshi agrees, and as Massu tugs him close, he can feel Tegoshi relaxing. "I'm still scared though."

Massu breathes a small laugh, because he can't imagine anyone who wouldn't be. "It's okay. I'll be there."
