30 days Johnny's challenge
I decided I wanted to do this after all, and lj is the only forum I can think of that a) can hold an amount of text and b) is a place I actually display my fandom. I found this on twitter but I'm not sure who made it, unfortunately. Whoever did, thank you~
I'll just fill up this post as the days go, I won't spam I promise~
1. Name your top 3 JE debuted bands.
3. Which is your favourite JE rock song?

I'm not a ballad person. There are not many ballads I like at all haha, but then again JE doesn't have too many long boring ballads. I think I've settled that if Ai no Katamari counts as one, that's my choice.
I like the rhythm, I like the lyrics (that I don't understand at all :D) and I like that basically all my JE faves have sung it sometime. I realize it's one of the predictable songs to pick since it's a classic, but I'm still not tired of it and I rarely skip it when it's randomized. And there are so many good versions to listen to.

I'm not going to answer best, because I'm not professional enough to judge that. But my favourite, that I like looking at the most is Chinen. Because I'm a jazz/ballet whore, it's the prettiest thing ever and he does it so effortlessly and just. I can't.
I've done streetdance myself and those dancers are cool too, but my love will always lie in the classic, broadway-ish, light dancing I think. And so it's Chinen for me. And it was difficult to confess so I think this challenge is good for me.
8. Who is your JE bias and why?
I had to choose here, since I'm not entirely comfortable with my bias yet. Ever. idk. I'm complete trash for Yamada, but my #1 is Nakajima Kento.
The road to Kento hasn't been easy, because he's so EMBARRASSING and CHEESY and I want to throw things and hide my face whenever he, you know, does something. But he's pretty and flawless and fabulous and I make embarrassing sounds when he's pretty that I'm not proud of.
On the more mature side, I think he's good for me. Because I'm always afraid of being over the top, of taking up too much space or in any way put myself in an embarrassing situation. I also hate romance, which is worth a mention because it's Kento's second name.
And Kento just does things and looks like he means it, no matter how silly or shameful or awkward it is, he does it and he does it seriously, and I really admire that.
So whenever I'm going to do something I don't feel comfortable with I've started to think that I should channel my inner Kento. And I think it works, kind of. Blood test? Think about Kento. Acting? Think about Kento. Scary phonecall? Think about Kento.
In a way, he's my therapy into things I don't like haha.
All in all, I really admire him, and at the same time, I'm really ashamed of him, but nobody gives me more feelings, so I've started to accept he's my #1.
9. Which is your favourite solo from a JE?
I would have answered anything Fujigaya here in a heartbeat if this was asked a year ago. So I'll at least mention him, that I love the three Think u x, Love meee and xLunaSx solos because they're SO GOOD, but I don't think he gets first spot.
I want to give it to Massu. Peekaboo.
I never ever skip that song tbh, it's as much of a summer song as a winter song for me, I remember listening to it late at night when I had summer work and there was beautiful sun and warm evenings, and I remember listening to it walking home a little drunk in midwinter looking at northern lights. So I have a lot of associations with it.
And the first time I saw it was a summer week at my best friend's house watching the Utsukoi dvd and crying and having Tokyo summer feelings I couldn't possibly conjure on my own because I haven't been there then but somehow it still happened? I've seen that performance like 50 times no joke, because there's a memory of being with her in it and there's nothing negative.
And it's such a cool performance when it's outside and it's dark and he sparkles all black and sunglasses and dancing and. Hngh. I love the way it's kind of coolly suggestive and then has this club beat to it, and Massu's voice is to die for. So good.

10. Which is your favourite drama with more than one JE?
Saving my fave drama for saturday night question, I think I'm gonna go with Scrap Teacher. Honestly, it's a shitty drama. But I loved it, because it was fun and over the top without embarrassing me to hell, it has baby Jump and baby! Fuma and Kento.
My review on mydramalist on this is probably the longest I've written lol. But I liked a lot of the characters, the plotline was ridiculously predictable but sometimes not, and it was just the kind of thing I need when I watch drama.
I also wrote fic about it, like, the only drama I've ever finished a fic about, so. Says a lot I think heh.
11. Which is your favourite JE otp?
This is one of these questions where my whole body protests answering. So for therapy reasons, I'll just straight out say Yamada/Chinen. I ship that pretty hard, despite my (two) friends both being all "... No." haha. I'm going to blame tumblr and Yamada's ridiculous behaviour. Also, there's no decent fic about it so I have to write them myself. I don't mean to sound bitchy about that, I just... Want my characters adult and the plots realistic so I'm not too impressed with fandom there.
Otherwise, in general, I'm Team All-The-Pairings, there are very few pairs I don't like tbh. All the love for everyone <3
13. Who do you think should debut next?
Honestly, I don't know. Since I'm not that into juniors I can't say someone I think deserves it more than anyone else. I think everyone who's been there for a while deserves a debut but I know the entertainment industry doesn't work that way. It's a shitty business tbh why do I spend so much money on it.
Anyway. I think it'd be fun to see a Kansai group that's not ridiculous by default?

Oh god no. I'll split this question to have any chance of answering it.
16. A JE song that makes you cry
I have plenty. Like Kisumai's kiss for u because ughh longing and sadness and everything I don't want to think about.
But then there's Snow Express, that I can barely listen to anymore. Even though I don't always CRY to it, like, in public on trains and stuff, it always gives me this dull heartache that lasts. I can cry to it if I've had a shitty day though so I choose my music carefully those afternoons heh.
17. A JE song that makes you feel better when you're down
NEW AGE. It's super weird because I didn't like it at first due to the autotune of doom. But then I kind of liked the weirdness of it, and it's relieving in a way. And I like the lyrics. Let go is what I need to hear most of the time when I'm upset about something.
It's a song that's helped me a lot actually, it's my "everything is shit time to calm down" song haha.
18. Who is your favourite junior?
Uhm. Since I'm not into juniors like, at all, that's a very difficult question. Maybe Taiga? He's cute enough and looks good in blonde and. Yeah.
19. Which 3 JE would you like together in a drama and in which genre?
Obviously Yamada, Fujigaya and Tegoshi in a BL drama.
No seriously, I'd like a fierce detective drama with people dying and shit. And I'd actually like NEWS people in it. Like maybe Tegoshi, Massu and Shige. That couldn't go wrong. I probably have other wishes, but that's the first thing I could think of that I'd be all AHMAHGAWD over haha.
20. Your favourite performance of a JE band/artist in a show (shokura, music station etc)
I think it's Fujigaya time. His think u x performance in shokura, I have no idea when but probably 2011 because his hair is short. The one with the sunglasses and the jacket. You know which one. I've seen it 50 times give or take, and it's so gooood. And the hottest thing ever is when they kind of blur the picture a little and the juniors take his jacket off hnggg. So awesome.
I would also like to mention a 3D girl performance that I've also seen like 50 times that is AWESOME amazing and everyone is so hot and Kitayama makes me forget I ever liked anyone else ever.
21. The most memorable moment for you in a countdown
First of all, I LOVE countdowns. I've seen a few waay too many times and if I do it while tweeting I seriously tweet every other minute. So I most likely have like 500 memorable moments in a countdown. But the only one I spontaenously come to think of (which should mean it's memorable?) is when Goseki and Chinen backdance for Tsubasa and it's jazz/ballet and I forget my name, life and the universe's existence. I've rewatched it A LOT:
22. The most memorable interview of a JE
Kitayama's 10k interview. First interview I cried floods to. It made me hate the industry too, as I always do when the boys talk about themselves on a deeper level than describing their perfect dates and other bullshit. And then ten minutes later I'm always ready to pay for it again orz.
But I was really touched by how he spoke about fighting and not knowing if you could do it and people not liking you and. Too relatable and I cried so much I had to adjust my make-up after it the next day.
26. A JE band/artist you didn't like in the beginning and is now one of your favourites
That would have to be Fujigaya haha. At first I thought he looked stupid, that his lips were too big and I couldn't for my life understand what was so cool or cute or hot about him. Then. Time worked it's magic because honestly did ANYONE love him at first sight? I was continuously exposed to him and then saw some dvd and then maybe started thinking he looked kind of good and HELLO xLunaSx solo!? And I was caught. I now absolutely adore Fujigaya, he's ridiculous and gay and super pretty and. Ugh. And he said that thing in some extra material that made me able to enjoy Kisumai again even after the massive breakup association. I love that man.
27. Choose your favourite member of each of the following bands: Arashi, NEWS, Kanjani8, KAT-TUN, HSJ, Kisumai, Sexy Zone, ABC-Z, Johnny's WEST.
Arashi - Nino. He's hilarious and just my type of "normal person". Lazy and not too bothered by anything. I don't think he's pretty. But I somehow still find him attractive. And I don't even know much about Arashi compared to everyone else into JE lol but I don't see myself finding someone else I like more in there.
NEWS - No please don't. I don't have a favourite, I can honestly say. I adore Tegoshi, because he's a nasty bitch but still fabulous, at the same time as I find him over the top annoying but I still kind of secretly enjoy it? What? I also love Massu because hello gorgeous, and he's so calm and kind and still stubborn and difficult but in a good way. I love Shige, because he's cute and sweet and deep and real in a way? Idk but I love him. He's also super hot. And Koyama is adorable and has so many feelings and still a bit slutty and. Yeah just don't make me choose.
Kanjani8 - Hello I don't know shit about Kanjani8. Seriously all I know is like 3 names and I've only seen them on countdowns etc. So maybe Ohkura because he doesn't seem QUITE as annoying as the rest and I REALLY don't like Ryo?
KAT-TUN - Hm. Ueda, I think. He's fierce and douchy and still has a bit of fairy dust left. He also likes Gackt. My kind of guy. I like the others as well, but I think he's the top.
HSJ - I couldn't fool anyone if I tried, so it's Yamada. Babe. He's so good at everything and still so human and so HOT and. I don't even. Strangely enough I'm starting to get more and more Chinen-biased these days? And Hikaru is blonde rn which is adhjbfd. So there's my runner-ups.
Kisumai - Kitayama. After years of debating I settled with him. He's so easygoing and still so deep and he's pretty and I love that man so goddamn much thanks for existing.
Sexy Zone - Well obviously Kento. But I love the other boys as well, this is another group where I don't have anyone I like the least. At first I wasn't too fond of Fuma, then I fell for him, and I didn't really like Shori or Sou too much either but then I fell for them and now I feel like they're just an adorable family and I want to group hug them. Yes, that's a pretty good description of them.
ABZ-C - Kawai. He's funny, clever and sometimes he's HOT. I did like Hasshi a lot too, but I like Kawai more because Hasshi's too stupid to weigh up for his nice looks lol.
Johnny's WEST - I think. I like Junta best. He's a little ugly but it's okay, he's pretty anyway, and idek, I just like him. I don't know much about JW except I really like their music, but I haven't gotten into them more than knowing their names and recognizing their faces.
28. Favourite choreography
I. Am a choreography WHORE. I love choreography it's the best thing in the entertainment industry, and anyone who's ever looked at my twitter will know I love when it's split into different parts that synch and it's just hngggghgh. That being said, I'm not sure I have a favourite choreography.
I've given some choreos a try to learn, but those are the simpler ones like HSJ's school girl and Kisumai's Thank you jan. I really like Star Rider. The thing with the hair throw. I really really like Beat Line, it's super cool. But I don't think I can choose a fave without seriously looking through every single thing I have so. I'll leave this blank?
29. Favourite JE PV
I want to pick two, because I love them in two completely different ways.
First, is NEWS Kaguya, because it's the prettiest goddamn PV ever and it talks to all my senses in aesthetic and colours and fabrics and YES. I've seen it like a hundred times.
And second, Jump's Mayonaka no Shadow boy. Because it has a plot and it starts my imagination everytime I see it because I wonder what they're running from and who they are and what happens when they're caught/not caught. It's INSPIRING in a way not many other PVs are in a way I think needs a shout out.
30. Song exchange!: Which songs from Kanjani8, Kisumai and Sexy Zone would you like them to switch?
I guess this would have been funnier if I knew anything about Kanjani8. What I want them to cover is probably a Busaiku song because that' their thing lol. Like Yachatta or something.
I think I want Sexy Zone to cover that vampire song. I'm looking up the title I promise but I only have the PV and I think it'd be cool to hear that.
For Kisumai song, I want them to do K&Q&J. I think it's a Kisumai kind of tune to it, and I think it needs more vocals so it would be really nice hearing them sing it.

1. Name your top 3 JE debuted bands.
Hey say jump. They unexpectedly danced right into my heart after I saw the smart dvd, because I'd only heard a few songs before then that I just thought were average. But there's something about them as a group, about their chemistry and that they really get along? I like that. I like how their Pvs has stories, how their shows are constructed, their songs and dances and costumes and the whole everything.
Kisumai. I... I've lost them a bit to be honest, because when I first got into j-pop they were literally all I had. I still love them, but it's a bit of a painful love, because there are a lot of personal issues twirled tightly around them that I can't entirely get over. I care about them, just not like I used to, but I don't think I'll ever get over them emotionally so I'll have to list them as number 2. It sounds bad that they're not a very positive feeling for me anymore, but I guess that's things that can happen.
Sexy Zone. It was never meant to happen. I heard Silver Moon and thought it was shit. Then... I don't know, they grew on me, especially that bloody Nakajima Kento. It's funny because everything new they release I'm initally like “nah it's not that good” and three days later I'm all “I LOVE IT @_@” so. Brainwashing skills A+?
Also there's the little boys that I was never allowed to find pretty but I do anyway. Because Marius is pretty and his legs are killer and I can have that opinion if I want. Ugh they're a pretty and sweet group in general and I'm so happy now that their split is if not gone at least massively reduced.
Honestly, I'm not very into juniors at all. I don't have time heh. I kind of like SixTones, but I only know that because I've seen a couple performances and I saw them in Bakaleya? I mean they're a pretty group, they're nice performers and all that. But I can't say I know them well enough to actually call “favourite”. The other groups, like Snow Man, I don't even know which name belongs to which boy so I'm not even going to talk about those.
3. Which is your favourite JE rock song?
Since I'm not very familiar with the word favourite, I went to last.fm and picked the one I've listened to most and could sort of qualify as a rock song. And it's FOREVER by Jump.
I could talk for ages about my feelings for this song, but I'll try and keep it brief haha. The first time I saw it (smart dvd hi~) I just thought it was pretty cool and fire-y and stuff, but. Then Yamada screams. And I don't even know what happened. I've always had a weakness for this thing when they sing but then the voice kind of breaks and it's a scream-ish (wow what an explanation gg), and I'd never heard it in JE before so I was immediately sold. And I've listened to it so many times when I walked home from school after shitty days and when I fought with my best friend all the time and it always just... helped.
It's cool and positive and everyone sounds so cool and. Ugh. Feelings.

This, I can't answer, because I hardly ever watch variety. So instead of answering the actual question I'll explain why I don't watch variety. First, I don't have time. Idols is a big deal in my life, yes, but I also have school and cosplay and friends, so there's just no time to follow variety shows and if I can't follow them, I don't really see the point.
Second, mostly I think it's embarrassing. Or humiliating. So I find it difficult to watch for that reason. Like kisubusa, I haven't seen a single one and I think I'd die from shame if I did watch one lol.
Third, I think I watch idols enough as it is heh.

I'm a huge detective/mystery fan in all forms, books and tv-shows and manga and everything, and so obviously mystery drama is my fave. It also has Yamada.
I really like Kindaichi as a character, how he's absolutely ridiculous one moment and then super fierce the next, and I ship him so hard with Miyuki and how often do I ship straight pairs? I also ship him a little bit with Saki sometimes but don't mind me.
I enjoyed the plots even though the endings were a bit cheesy for my taste most of the time. But the ideas were great and some storylines are surprisingly horrible.
I've watched this drama twice since like April and I'll probably watch it again when I feel sorry for myself and need cheering up haha.

- My favourite concert I've attended: Kis-My-Journey. It was amazing, and my first ever massive show. We had great seats the first day with Senga just in front of us, and the themes were cool and coordinated and just the feeling of being there in Tokyo Dome and look at the tiny sparkly idols and feel the heat from fireworks and hold hands with random japanese girls. The best.
- My favourite concert on dvd: Is a trickier one. But I'll go the therapy way and answer what I feel right now. It's pending between Jumping Carnival and Utsukoi tbh, because I've seen both of them (or parts to be fair) countless times, and they always make me feel better, no matter what's making me feel down. They're also really good at making me cry if I need that. They're both a little bittersweet in a way, but I can choose just the good if I want to? Idk that was deep. I really love both of them anyhow.

Hyper. Is a word we used when I was like 14 haha. Excited and ready to go would probably be We Never Give Up. Obviously Yamada, Fujigaya and Tegoshi in a BL drama.
No seriously, I'd like a fierce detective drama with people dying and shit. And I'd actually like NEWS people in it. Like maybe Tegoshi, Massu and Shige. That couldn't go wrong. I probably have other wishes, but that's the first thing I could think of that I'd be all AHMAHGAWD over haha.
20. Your favourite performance of a JE band/artist in a show (shokura, music station etc)
I think it's Fujigaya time. His think u x performance in shokura, I have no idea when but probably 2011 because his hair is short. The one with the sunglasses and the jacket. You know which one. I've seen it 50 times give or take, and it's so gooood. And the hottest thing ever is when they kind of blur the picture a little and the juniors take his jacket off hnggg. So awesome.
I would also like to mention a 3D girl performance that I've also seen like 50 times that is AWESOME amazing and everyone is so hot and Kitayama makes me forget I ever liked anyone else ever.
21. The most memorable moment for you in a countdown
First of all, I LOVE countdowns. I've seen a few waay too many times and if I do it while tweeting I seriously tweet every other minute. So I most likely have like 500 memorable moments in a countdown. But the only one I spontaenously come to think of (which should mean it's memorable?) is when Goseki and Chinen backdance for Tsubasa and it's jazz/ballet and I forget my name, life and the universe's existence. 22. The most memorable interview of a JE
Kitayama's 10k interview. First interview I cried floods to. It made me hate the industry too, as I always do when the boys talk about themselves on a deeper level than describing their perfect dates and other bullshit. And then ten minutes later I'm always ready to pay for it again orz.
But I was really touched by how he spoke about fighting and not knowing if you could do it and people not liking you and. Too relatable and I cried so much I had to adjust my make-up after it the next day.

Jpop covers have NOTHING on vk covers. And since I'm used to vk I'm not generally impressed by jpop covers. So I scrolled through the covers I have in my iPod and I think my fave is Tegomass no seishun, the one where they're just silhouettes against a sunset. That's so pretty and much more artistic than all the pop coloured covers with 4-9 boys on them.
I like it when it's artistic but still says something about the group/album, like this cover which is classically simple and pretty but still feels a little cozy, which I think is the essence of Tegomass. So I think it's my favourite.

That would have to be Fujigaya haha. At first I thought he looked stupid, that his lips were too big and I couldn't for my life understand what was so cool or cute or hot about him. Then. Time worked it's magic because honestly did ANYONE love him at first sight? I was continuously exposed to him and then saw some dvd and then maybe started thinking he looked kind of good and HELLO xLunaSx solo!? And I was caught. I now absolutely adore Fujigaya, he's ridiculous and gay and super pretty and. Ugh. And he said that thing in some extra material that made me able to enjoy Kisumai again even after the massive breakup association. I love that man.

Arashi - Nino. He's hilarious and just my type of "normal person". Lazy and not too bothered by anything. I don't think he's pretty. But I somehow still find him attractive. And I don't even know much about Arashi compared to everyone else into JE lol but I don't see myself finding someone else I like more in there.
NEWS - No please don't. I don't have a favourite, I can honestly say. I adore Tegoshi, because he's a nasty bitch but still fabulous, at the same time as I find him over the top annoying but I still kind of secretly enjoy it? What? I also love Massu because hello gorgeous, and he's so calm and kind and still stubborn and difficult but in a good way. I love Shige, because he's cute and sweet and deep and real in a way? Idk but I love him. He's also super hot. And Koyama is adorable and has so many feelings and still a bit slutty and. Yeah just don't make me choose.
Kanjani8 - Hello I don't know shit about Kanjani8. Seriously all I know is like 3 names and I've only seen them on countdowns etc. So maybe Ohkura because he doesn't seem QUITE as annoying as the rest and I REALLY don't like Ryo?
KAT-TUN - Hm. Ueda, I think. He's fierce and douchy and still has a bit of fairy dust left. He also likes Gackt. My kind of guy. I like the others as well, but I think he's the top.
HSJ - I couldn't fool anyone if I tried, so it's Yamada. Babe. He's so good at everything and still so human and so HOT and. I don't even. Strangely enough I'm starting to get more and more Chinen-biased these days? And Hikaru is blonde rn which is adhjbfd. So there's my runner-ups.
Kisumai - Kitayama. After years of debating I settled with him. He's so easygoing and still so deep and he's pretty and I love that man so goddamn much thanks for existing.
Sexy Zone - Well obviously Kento. But I love the other boys as well, this is another group where I don't have anyone I like the least. At first I wasn't too fond of Fuma, then I fell for him, and I didn't really like Shori or Sou too much either but then I fell for them and now I feel like they're just an adorable family and I want to group hug them. Yes, that's a pretty good description of them.
ABZ-C - Kawai. He's funny, clever and sometimes he's HOT. I did like Hasshi a lot too, but I like Kawai more because Hasshi's too stupid to weigh up for his nice looks lol.
Johnny's WEST - I think. I like Junta best. He's a little ugly but it's okay, he's pretty anyway, and idek, I just like him. I don't know much about JW except I really like their music, but I haven't gotten into them more than knowing their names and recognizing their faces.
28. Favourite choreography
I. Am a choreography WHORE. I love choreography it's the best thing in the entertainment industry, and anyone who's ever looked at my twitter will know I love when it's split into different parts that synch and it's just hngggghgh. That being said, I'm not sure I have a favourite choreography.
I've given some choreos a try to learn, but those are the simpler ones like HSJ's school girl and Kisumai's Thank you jan. I really like Star Rider. The thing with the hair throw. I really really like Beat Line, it's super cool. But I don't think I can choose a fave without seriously looking through every single thing I have so. I'll leave this blank?
29. Favourite JE PV
I want to pick two, because I love them in two completely different ways.
First, is NEWS Kaguya, because it's the prettiest goddamn PV ever and it talks to all my senses in aesthetic and colours and fabrics and YES. I've seen it like a hundred times.
And second, Jump's Mayonaka no Shadow boy. Because it has a plot and it starts my imagination everytime I see it because I wonder what they're running from and who they are and what happens when they're caught/not caught. It's INSPIRING in a way not many other PVs are in a way I think needs a shout out.
30. Song exchange!: Which songs from Kanjani8, Kisumai and Sexy Zone would you like them to switch?
I guess this would have been funnier if I knew anything about Kanjani8. What I want them to cover is probably a Busaiku song because that' their thing lol. Like Yachatta or something.
I think I want Sexy Zone to cover that vampire song. I'm looking up the title I promise but I only have the PV and I think it'd be cool to hear that.
For Kisumai song, I want them to do K&Q&J. I think it's a Kisumai kind of tune to it, and I think it needs more vocals so it would be really nice hearing them sing it.
