Dresscode [Minific]

Notes: Why did I write this? I was watching Breaking Dawn and got bored, I think the answer is. And fancy clothes are nice.
"Do I look okay?" Yamada asks, and Chinen looks up from where he sits on the couch in sweatpants, fully intent to utilize Yamada's home while he's out.
He's wearing a suit that's a bit flashy, some sparkles on the lapels and a polka dot lining peeking out when he corrects the jacket. His shirt is crisp white but there's no tie or bow tie. It's not that formal apparently, even if Yamada angsted a while about the dresscode. It took for Kiritani-san to tell him what he was wearing for him to settle on his own outfit. He's cute like that, Chinen thinks. A marvellous new star in everyone's eyes, but just a lost young adult trying his best to fit in like everyone else when there's no one watching him.
Chinen raises an eyebrow with a smile, slowly putting his tea down on the table and rises.
Yamada's eyes flick uncertainly before settling on Chinen approaching him, his expression expectant confusion.
"Looks great." Chinen finally says as he stops before the most attractive man in the entire universe, carefully reaching up to correct a freshly dyed strand of hair.
"Yeah?" Yamada breathes in relief, that beautiful smile catching his lips and Chinen smiles back.
"Yeah." He agrees, but his fingers trail from Yamada's hair to his collar, tracing it to the front where he falls off the fabric and onto warm skin. He glances up to see Yamada's suddenly different expression, but he can only smile as his fingertips slowly brush his skin down to where a button keeps him from going further. He easily pops the first button before withdrawing his hand. "Wear it like that, it's sexier."
Yamada looks down at his own chest before his eyes flick up to look at Chinen under lashes. "... Why do you always do this to me when I have to go somewhere?"
Chinen laughs, because there's some fun in teasing, and the fact that they both know they can't do anything now just makes the idea more appealing.
"Just to make sure you come home to me again." Chinen smiles, but he's mostly joking. He might not be thrilled about the idea of Yamada going to some fancy invite only actor party to be swooned over by everyone, but it's not like he's worried.
Yamada rolls his eyes but smiles, reaching out for Chinen's hands and laces their fingers together. "That's what I mostly look forward to tonight. Don't eat all my ice cream."
"Don't get too drunk." Chinen counters, having already spotted the best flavours in Yamada's freezer.
"I won't." Yamada promises even though he doesn't have to, then leans in for a lingering kiss while firmly holding Chinen's hands to keep them from moving. He might have a tendency to go for Yamada's hair. "Have a good night."
"I think that's my line." Chinen smiles but allows Yamada to let go of his hands and slip into his outerwear.
"Is it really okay?" Yamada asks as he takes a final look at himself in the hall mirror, pulling on gloves and a scarf, and Chinen can't believe him.
"I'd gladly have you take me out on the most expensive date and then love me all night in that." Chinen says, hoping that the message gets across that way since Yamada is immune to any synonym of “pretty” there is.
Yamada just sends him a long, dark look, before finally taking his keys from the hall table. "Don't wait up for me."
"Okay." Chinen agrees, leaning against the doorway to the hall as he watches Yamada leave. He'll wait up anyway. It's worth it.

Date: 2017-03-23 12:41 pm (UTC)I just like the little snapshot into their lives, but also themselves as a whole. You can see Yamada's insecurities, how much love Chinen has for him all bundled into one lovely package.
Plus its nice to read a fic where it's a slice of life and nothing more :D it's a breath of fresh air!
